Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube on Monday (21st March) recalled how he felt when he was picked by Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2022 auction.

Dube invited a bidding war between as many as four teams in RR, LSG, PBKS and CSK at the mega-auction. In the end, the all-rounder was acquired by the MS Dhoni-led side for INR 4 crores.

Dube has had decent success in IPL, having represented Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals in the past. The southpaw has played some staggering cameos with the bat and also chipped in with the ball for his team.

With a few days remaining for the start of the IPL 15, Dube has joined CSK’s camp and has begun his preparations for the league. He’s expected to find a place in the middle-order and form a strong batting line-up along with the likes of Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu and MS Dhoni.

Speaking a video posted on CSK’s YouTube channel, Shivam Dube expressed his excitement in joining the MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings. He said that when the skipper asks him to do something he feels that it will happen itself.

“I think you can still see the goosebumps coming out because I have always been a fan of Mahi bhai and especially CSK.

“Jab Mahi bhai ne bola hai yeh karna hai toh voh aisa lag raha hai ki ho jaayega, karna nahi padega (When Mahi bhai asks you to do something, just consider it to be done),” Shivam Dube said.

Dube revealed that when he was picked by the CSK in IPL 2022 auction, he danced in excitement and called his wife and family as it got him ‘moving’.

"I was dancing a bit in my room. I was really happy. I called my wife and my family. I was just really very happy. I typically don't dance but the sheer happiness after getting picked by CSK got me moving. I didn't know what I was doing as I was really excited," he said.

CSK will begin their campaign against Kolkata Knight Riders at the iconic Wankhade Stadium on 26th March.
