IPL 2021: It was my day, made the best use of it- KKR's Sunil Narine after Player of Match performance

Narine picked 4-21 in his 4 overs and scored 26 (15) with the bat.

Sunil Narine celebrates the fall of RCB's Glenn Maxwell | BCCI/IPLThe Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) scripted a great comeback as they were seventh on the points table during the first-leg of IPL 2021 but as the tournament shifted to UAE, the two-time champions won 6 out of 8 matches to qualify for the playoffs stage.

KKR continued their winning run as they handed a 4-wicket loss to RCB in the Eliminator of IPL 2021. Off-spinner Sunil Narine played a key role in KKR’s win over RCB as he was on top of his game at Sharjah on Monday (11 October).

Opting to bat first, the Virat Kohli and Co. was restricted to just 138/7 in their quota of 20 overs thanks to some brilliant bowling by Narine as he returned 4-21 in his 4 overs. The West Indies cricketer also contributed with the bat by scoring 26 (15) when KKR has lost some quick wickets.

The explosive left-hand batter was also adjudged as Player of the Match for his all-round performance in the Eliminator of IPL 2021.

IPL 2021: KKR will have an edge against the Delhi Capitals- Shubman Gill

Any good performance in a match-winning game is always good. Today was my day and made the best use of it. All wickets I enjoy. I'm not that close to what I was before but I'm getting there. Hard work is paying off. Always get some heartbeats before the game. But cool and calm during the game. Prefer to have the ball in hand which you can control,Narine told host broadcaster Star Sports at the post-match presentation.

Narine picked four crucial wickets as he dismissed the RCB skipper Virat Kohli along with Srikar Bharat, Glenn Maxwell and AB De Villiers which put the Bangalore-based franchise on the backfoot.

Next, the Eoin Morgan and Co. will be locking horns with Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Qualifier 2 at the same venue in Sharjah on Wednesday (13 October).
