IPL 2021: Match 46, MI v DC – COC Predicted Playing XIs

Sharjah will host the match between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals on October 2.

DC had defeated MI by 6 wickets in the first leg of IPL 2021 | BCCI/IPLThe 46th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 will see Mumbai Indians (MI) taking on Delhi Capitals (DC) in Sharjah on Saturday (October 2).

The defending champions are having a tough time in the UAE-leg of the tournament but they are entering this game on the back of a six-wicket victory over Punjab Kings (PBKS)

On the other hand, the Capitals need only one win from the remaining three games to secure their place in the playoffs but they are coming into this game with a three-wicket defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

While MI will aim to carry the winning momentum, DC will look to get back to winning ways when both teams will square off at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Keeping the venue in mind, Team COC presents to you the Predicted playing XIs of Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals.

Mumbai Indians (MI)

MI defeated PBKS in their last game | BCCI/IPLHaving gained confidence from the convincing win against PBKS, MI are unlikely to make too many changes in the playing XI.

Skipper Rohit Sharma and wicketkeeper batter Quinton de Kock should open the innings followed by Suryakumar Yadav, Saurabh Tiwary, and Krunal Pandya.

Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard played instrumental roles in Mumbai’s victory in the last game and they are certain to feature in the team line-up.

Coming to the bowling department, Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult will lead the pace battery and Nathan Coulter-Nile is likely to make way for Jayant Yadav as Sharjah’s pitch assists the spinners big time.

With quite a few left-handers featuring in DC’s batting line-up, Jayant might prove to be a trump card for MI with his off-spin. Leg-spinner Rahul Chahar should also retain his place in the playing XI, having returned with impressive figures of 1/27 versus PBKS.

Delhi Capitals (DC)

DC lost to KKR in their last outing | BCCI/IPLDC might have suffered a defeat in their last game but they were without two of their key players in Prithvi Shaw and Marcus Stoinis due to injuries.

If both of them are fit for selection, then the Capitals are expected to make a couple of changes in their playing XI against Mumbai Indians.

Shaw is likely to partner Shikhar Dhawan at the top by replacing Steve Smith. Notably, Smith was Delhi's top scorer in the last game with 34-ball 39 but Shaw and Dhawan have been profile for DC this season.

Shreyas Iyer will bat at No. 3 followed by captain Rishabh Pant and Shimron Hetmyer. The batting line-up could be bolstered by the presence of all-rounder Stoinis, who appears fit to replace Lalit Yadav in the playing XI.

Considering Sharjah’s pitch, spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Akshar Patel will retain their spots in the team line-up.

Coming to the pace unit, Kagiso Rabada should continue to lead the contingent along with Anrich Nortje and Avesh Khan. The trio has been vital in Delhi’s dominance this season.

Mumbai Indians COC Predicted Playing XI:

Rohit Sharma (c), Quinton de Kock (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Saurabh Tiwary, Krunal Pandya, Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Jayant Yadav, Rahul Chahar, Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult

Delhi Capitals COC Predicted Playing XIs:

Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (c & wk), Shimron Hetmyer, Marcus Stoinis, Akshar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Avesh Khan
