The second wave of COVID-19 has taken India by storm and the deadly pandemic has started to cause disruptions in the ongoing IPL as well.
Two players at Kolkata Knight Riders, Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier, tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday (May 3), leading to IPL rescheduling the match between KKR and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Now, a report published in ESPNcricinfo suggests that Wednesday's (May 5) IPL game between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals has also been postponed.
The decision comes in the wake of CSK squad going into a week-long quarantine after two positive cases surfaced in the camp.
Speaking to ESPNcricinfo, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan said that the franchise had written to the IPL on Monday, informing that the entire contingent was isolating immediately after it emerged two people, including bowling coach L Balaji, had diagnosed COVID-19 positive.
Viswanathan also returned positive in the test conducted on May 2 but Monday’s round of testing cleared him. On the other hand, Balaji and the team’s bus cleaner detected positive for the second time in two days.
"The IPL SOPs say if any member of the team is infected the rest of the group needs to isolate for seven days. So we have informed the IPL on Monday," Viswanathan said.
The CSK CEO also confirmed that the entire squad was tested on Monday and everyone except for Balaji and the bus cleaner returned negative.
