IPL 2021: Cricket fraternity lauds Amit Mishra’s 4/24 as MI restricted to 137/9 by DC

Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bat first, giving him an edge as it was the first match for DC in Chepauk.

MI made one change, bringing in Jayant Yadav for Adam Milne, while DC made two changes, bringing in Amit Mishra for Lukman Meriwala and Shimron Hetmyer for Chris Woakes.

This change of bringing in Amit Mishra proved to be a great one as he helped DC in restricting MI to a below-par score in Chepauk.

Rohit Sharma made 44 for MI | IPL-BCCIRohit Sharma was top-scorer for MI, as he made 44 with 3 fours and 3 sixes. Suryakumar Yadav (24), Ishan Kishan (26), and Jayant Yadav (23) were the other major contributors to MI’s final score of 137/9 in 20 overs.

Avesh Khan picked 2/15, while Marcus Stoinis, Kagiso Rabada, and Lalit Yadav picked a wicket each, but the man of the moment proved to be the veteran Amit Mishra, who picked 4/24 in his 4 overs.

He changed the game when he dismissed Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya in the same over of the MI innings. He then came back to dismiss Kieron Pollard and a well-set Ishan Kishan, restricting a potent MI batting to a below-average score.
