Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha's groin injury is “not serious” but his IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is expected to adopt a cautious approach over Australia tour-bound cricketer after consultation with the BCCI's medical team.

All the franchises have been reportedly instructed by the BCCI to be a bit cautious with regards to the fitness of national team players, especially Australia tour-bound Indian players in the ongoing IPL 2020.

Saha suffered a groin injury during his match-winning innings of 87 off 45 balls against Delhi Capitals on Tuesday and didn't keep wickets, however, the veteran was hopeful to recover soon from the injury.

He has been named in India’s Test squad for the upcoming Australia tour begins next month after the end of the IPL 13 and the players will leave for Sydney from the UAE directly.

After the SRH v DC IPL 13 match, Hyderabad skipper David Warner confirmed Saha’s injury by saying: “Unfortunately, he's got a little groin niggle but hopefully it isn't too bad.”

Meanwhile, a senior BCCI source said of Saha’s injury: “It doesn't look very serious at the moment but there is a three-day gap before Sunrisers' next game (against Royal Challengers Bangalore on October 31). Let's keep our fingers crossed.”

Noteworthy, Saha is likely to be advised to skip the next two games in the ongoing IPL 2020, and in case SRH makes it to IPL 13 playoffs, he would be fully fit.
