IPL 2020: Cricket fraternity reacts as Varun Chakravarthy’s 5-fer powers KKR to a resounding win over DC

KKR restricted DC to 135/9 after posting 194/6 on the board.

Varun Chakravarthy claimed five-wicket haul against DC | IPL/BCCIKolkata Knight Riders (KKR) faced Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 42nd match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 in Abu Dhabi on Saturday (October 24).

Asked to bat first, KKR piled up a massive 194/6 in 20 overs on the back of Nitish Rana’s 53-ball 81 and Sunil Narine’s 32-ball 64.

Anrich Nortje was the stand-out bowler for DC, claiming 2 wickets by conceding 27 runs in his four overs.

Defending the total, KKR restricted DC to 135/9 as leg-spinner Varun Chakravarthy (5-20) and speedster Pat Cummins (3-17) ran through the opposition’s batting line-up.

It was a listless batting performance from Delhi. Except for skipper Shreyas Iyer (47 off 38 balls), none of them in the line-up managed to touch the 30-run mark.

Cricket fraternity lauded Knight Riders’ dominant showing over the Capitals in all departments.
