IPL 2020: WATCH- Nitish Rana pays tribute to late father-in-law with a special KKR jersey

Rana opened the innings for KKR and added 115 runs with Sunil Narine.

Nitish Raan displays special jersey with name of his late father-in-law on it | BCCI/IPLKolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batsman Nitish Rana was sent to open the innings with Shubman Gill in their latest match in IPL 2020 against Delhi Capitals (DC). Rana has scored 244 runs with two half-centuries for KKR.

Rana used the opportunity to the max and scored a brilliant half-century while Gill and Karthik fell for single-digit scores and Tripathi made 13. Rana also added 115 runs in quick time with Sunil Narine who made 64 in 32 balls with 4 sixes and 5 fours to his name.

When Rana reached his half-century off the 35th ball, he touched gloves with Narine and then proceeded to display a KKR jersey with ‘Surinder’ written on the back with number 63 and then folded his hands in Namaste while looking at the skies.

In fact, Nitish was paying tribute to his father-in-law Surinder Marwah, who passed away on October 23, 2020. Nitish dated Saachi Marwah for two years and got engaged in the year 2016, later they got married on February 19, 2019.

Both IPL and KKR official Twitter handles shared the video and photo respectively of Nitish Rana paying a unique homage to his late father-in-law.

Meanwhile, Nitish Rana's 81 (13 fours, 1 six) and Narine's 64 helped KKR make 194/6 in 20 overs. Anrich Nortje, Kagiso Rabada, and Marcus Stoinis all picked two wickets each for Delhi Capitals.
