Indian cricket legend and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni remains a strong brand even after the former wicketkeeper-batsman retired from the international cricket and former India spinner Pragyan Ojha said no one can replace his persona both on and off the field.
He is still dominating the advertisement space as well as ruling the heats and remains a key figure in the ongoing IPL 2020 despite CSK languishing at the 7th spot with just 3 wins from 9 matches so far.
The CSK have to win four out of their 5 games to have any chance to make it to the IPL 13 playoffs but still Dhoni’s aura as an Indian cricket legend remains on the top and youngsters don’t delay to pick his brain whenever they gets the opportunity and we often saw the same in the ongoing IPL 2020.
Well, Ojha also believes that brand Dhoni will remain strong regardless of CSK's performances in IPL 2020, saying the way the youngsters queuing up to pick his brains after his team’s IPL 13 matches in the UAE is great evidence of the legacy of the former India captain.
Ojha told Sports Today on Monday: “For me, brand Dhoni is... once the game is over, look at the youngsters coming and standing next to Dhoni and talking to him. See, that is for me is what makes MS Dhoni different from others. A minimum of 5-6 youngsters going and picking his brains. That nobody can replace. That's one of the reasons I adore him.”
Meanwhile, Imrah Tahir is yet to play in the ongoing IPL 2020 and former spinner said: “Imran Tahir, any team he walks in. But when you look at CSK, they have to address their death bowling.”
He signed off by saying, “Sam Curran can't bowl in the death. And Deepak Chahar, without a swing, I don't think he will be bowling at the death. So, you need someone who can bowl quick.”
