Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) co-owner Preity Zinta was over the moon after her team defeated the defending champions Mumbai Indians in a thriller double super over in the 36th match of the ongoing IPL 2020 on Sunday (October 18) at Dubai International Stadium.
The 8th ranked KXIP stunned one and all by thrashing MI in the back-to-back super overs after the original match ended in a tie following the 20 overs with both teams scoring 176 runs on Sunday.
Mohammad Shami was the star for KXIP as MI needed six runs to win the first super over with two frontline batsmen in Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma at the crease, but the star speedster stepped up to the occasion and bowled six accurate yorkers to take the match to another super over.
In the dramatic second super over, Mumbai managed only 9 runs off the 6 balls that was successfully chased down by Chris Gayle (7*) and Mayank Agarwal (8*) with final four as KXIP secured the match via super over for the second time in the ongoing 13th edition of the T20 league.

During the second super over, the KXIP co-owner was seen jumping like a child, in immense joy, as Agarwal hit the winning four to take the franchise to a nervy double super over win over the defending champions with 2 balls remaining in Dubai on Sunday
With the thrilling win over MI, KXIP finally jumped to the sixth position from the bottom of the points table with 6 points from 9 games so far in the ongoing tournament.
After the game, the actress took to Twitter to express her delight at the team’s wonderful double super over win against the current champions as he was left speechless with her team’s supreme team effort.

Noteworthy, KXIP will now lock horns against the table topper Delhi Capitals in their next IPL 2020 encounter on Tuesday (October 20) in Dubai.
