Former India cricketer and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar responded to the accusation of being unfair with other cricketers and scared of MS Dhoni. Manjrekar immediately cleared that it isn't the case and he also said let the fans judge.

Manjrekar had pointed out that  Dhoni should have used Karn Sharma over Ravindra Jadeja to bowl the last over against Delhi Capitals. He called it Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) mistake which cost them the match.

The Twitter user who criticized Manjrekar said he points out other captains, but not Dhoni because of fear.

"Look at his tweet on Shreyas Iyer just a while ago: sharply critical and biting tone. And look at this tweet: Dhoni's mistake becomes CSK's mistake. This is a regular trend. How scared are commentators to criticize Dhoni!! Not just Sanjay Manjrekar, each one of them.", the user wrote.

To which, Manjrekar said he was talking about Shreyas Iyer's batting only and not Delhi Capitals' (DC) performance, unlike in CSK's case.

"Sir when I say, a costly mistake by CSK, what’s the inference? Is it not Dhoni? And with Iyer, it was his batting I was specifically talking about, can’t say DC there can I? Am I scared to criticize Dhoni? Maybe our friends here on Twitter could answer that.", he wrote.

DC had defeated CSK by five wicket-wickets in Sharjah. They needed 17 runs required off the final over. But with Dwayne Bravo unfit, leg-spinner Karn Sharma and Jadeja were Dhoni’s only two bowling options to bowl the 20th. He went with Jadeja and Akshar Patel slammed three sixes off him to make the required runs.
