IPL 2020: Match 23, RR v DC – COC Predicted Playing XIs

Sharjah will host the match between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals on October 9.

The match is expected to be a high-scoring affair in Sharjah | IANSThe 23rd match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 will see Rajasthan Royals (RR) taking on Delhi Capitals (DC) on Friday (October 8).

While the Capitals are coming into the game with an imposing 59-run victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), the Royals have suffered defeats in their last three fixtures after starting the campaign with two successive wins.

DC will look to carry their domination whereas RR will look to bounce back during the showdown at Sharjah and for this, both the teams ought to pick right players in their line-ups.

Therefore, Team COC presents to you the Predicted Playing XIs for the Rajasthan Royals versus Delhi Capitals match.

Rajasthan Royals (RR)

Rajasthan Royals have lost their last three games | IANSConsidering the fact that RR had a good time in their first two outings at Sharjah, they are likely to drop the 18-year-old Yashasvi Jaiswal from the playing XI, with skipper Steve Smith coming back to the opening slot alongside Jos Buttler.

There is a high chance that Sanju Samson, who played brilliant knocks of 74 and 85 in the first two games, will bat at No. 3 against Delhi.

In order to bolster the middle-order, Royals think tank may bring the veteran campaigner Robin Uthappa in the line-up. Mahipal Lomror and Rahul Tewatia should retain their places in the playing XI as lower middle-order batsmen.

Coming to the bowling attack, Jofra Archer should continue to lead the contingent alongside Tom Curran and Kartik Tyagi, who impressed one and all on his debut against Mumbai Indians. There could be one change in the pace department, with Varun Aaron coming in for Ankit Rajpoot, who conceded 42 runs in his 3 overs during RR’s 57-run loss to MI.

Shreyas Gopal has looked in a good rhythm and the leg-spinner should be part of the playing XI.

Delhi Capitals (DC)

DC thrashed RCB by 59 runs in their last fixture | IANSWith 4 wins from 5 games, DC are looking good to qualify for the play-offs and the team is unlikely to tweak their winning combination against RR.

The pair of Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan should continue to open the innings followed by skipper Shreyas Iyer and wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant. Shimron Hetmyer might not have registered a big score this season but he looked good against RCB in the last game and is likely to retain his place in the playing XI.

Marcus Stoinis is playing the role of an all-rounder brilliantly and he is certain to be in the team against the Royals.

Bowling wise, DC have a very good mix of spinners and pacers. With Ravichandran Ashwin doing well in his comeback match after injury, he is likely to lead the spin department alongside Akshar Patel, who bagged the Player-of-the-Match award for his brilliant spell (2/18) in DC’s big win over RCB.

When it comes to the pace department, Kagiso Rabada should continue to lead the contingent along with Anrich Nortje and Harshal Patel.
