Kolkata Knight Riders captain Dinesh Karthik was recently challenged by Mumbai Indians' (MI) Kieron Pollard to take the ‘break the beard’ challenge and shave off his thick beard. Pollard himself aced the challenge after being asked to do so by his teammate and ‘brother’ Hardik Pandya.
The ‘Break the Beard’ challenge is to shave your beard and upload short videos on social media, using the hashtag #BreakTheBeard. The move is intended to break the fashion stereotype among men.
The challenge is a popular one with the likes of Ravindra Jadeja, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, and others participating in this trend which has been going on for the last 3 years.
Pollard had posted a video on his Instagram showing his wonderful transformation and had tagged Karthik in it as well. Therefore, DK, as he is popularly known, took it seriously and the result was amazing.
