Tewatia went from zero to hero in one over against KXIP, hitting five sixes against Cottrell | IANSRajasthan Royals’ (RR) all-rounder Rahul Tewatia is currently the toast of the nation after his heroics in the IPL 2020 match against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), which helped RR chase down a record 224-run target with three balls to spare.

Promoted in the batting order for his hitting prowess, Tewatia initially found it difficult to get going and was being trolled heavily on social media and even on-air commentators were talking about him retiring to let someone else come and hit the big shots.

Sanju Samson, on the other hand, got out after playing a marvelous knock of 85 runs, as pressure increased on him to hit more sixes, with Tewatia struggling on 17 runs from 23 balls. But in the 18th over, with 51 runs needed off the last 18 balls, Tewatia decimated Sheldon Cottrell, as he was hit for five sixes.

Tewatia went from zero to hero in one over, making 53 runs before being dismissed. Jofra Archer hit Mohammad Shami for a couple of sixes to take RR to an unprecedented win.

Tewatia was cherished by cricket fans all over India for his amazing knock which had 7 sixes in it and he recently sent them into a collective fit by posting four words on Twitter.

He tweeted, “Sorry guys I’m late”, given that it was his first tweet since 2018 and it went viral with more than 7.6K likes and close to 1,000 retweets at the time of writing this piece.
