Tewatia slammed five sixes in one Cottrell overRahul Tewatia of Rajasthan Royals was the hero for their win over Kings XI Punjab on Sunday in Sharjah. RR chased down a record IPL total of 224 runs, breaking their own decade-old record in the process.

Tewatia made 53 runs in quick time but hadn’t got going for the first 17 balls or so. But he decimated Sheldon Cottrell for 30 runs in an over, leading to a tremendous RR come back into the match as they chased down 51 runs in the last three overs to win the match by 4 wickets.

Cottrell, known for his salute celebration, something he performed after dismissing Jos Buttler out, was taken apart by Tewatia as he slammed him for five sixes in the 18th over, putting RR on the path of an incredible win, which was achieved by Jofra Archer who slammed Mohammad Shami for two sixes in the next over.

Rahul Tewatia imitated the Caribbean bowler’s celebration by doing a salute himself in the confines of the dressing room, in a video shared by RR's social media team.

KXIP posted 223/2 in 20 overs after Mayank Agarwal scored 106 and KL Rahul made 69 and the duo added 183 runs for the opening wicket. Steve Smith made 50 and Sanju Samson made 85 with 7 sixes, to give the RR chase momentum, but it was Tewatia and Archer who used the long handle and got the win with 3 balls to spare.
