The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Sunday (August 2) conducted its IPL governing council meeting to discuss and finalize matters related to the IPL 2020 to be hosted in UAE, pending necessary clearances from the Government of India.
After the meeting, it was announced that the 13th edition of the cash-rich league will commence on September 19 while the final will take place on November 10.

As soon as the official confirmation was made, Rohit Sharma and Dinesh Karthik took to Instagram to share their excitement.
Rohit, the Mumbai Indians skipper, posted a picture from IPL 2017 final in which he can be seen running around the ground after winning the trophy and captioned it as: “Me running towards the airport to catch a plane for Dubai #IPL2020”.

On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders captain Karthik uploaded a photo of his flying catch with the caption reading: “I am THIS ready to catch that flight to Dubai #IPL2020 #kkrhaitaiyaar”.

During its meeting, the governing council also set a 24-player limit for each IPL squad and approved the use of COVID-19 substitutes.
The afternoon matches will begin at 3:30 PM IST and evening matches will begin at 7.30 PM IST.
