The much-anticipated IPL 2026 auction will take place in Abu Dhabi on December 16, 2025. A total of 369 players have been shortlisted, with all ten franchises competing to fill 77 available slots as they look to complete their squads ahead of the league’s 19th season.
The mini-auction features 77 vacancies, including 31 earmarked for overseas players. The highest reserve price is INR 2 crore, a bracket that includes 40 players this year. Australia all-rounder Cameron Green grabbed the spotlight after being picked up by KKR for INR 25.20 crore.
Uttar Pradesh’s Prashant Veer and Rajasthan’s Kartik Sharma emerged as the most expensive uncapped Indian players in IPL auction history, with CSK buying them for INR 14.20 crores each.
In the second accelerated round of the IPL 2026 Auction, Sarfaraz Khan was the second name out, and he was bought by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for his base price of INR 75 lakhs.
However, Prithvi Shaw remained unsold in this round as well, and so was Jake Fraser-McGurk. However, England all-rounder Liam Livingstone, who went unsold early on, got a huge amount of INR 13 crores from Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Rachin Ravindra was bought by KKR, while Deepak Hooda went unsold again. KKR also bought India and Bengal pacer Akash Deep for his base price of INR 1 crore.
Matt Henry got lucky in this round as CSK bought him for his base price. Shivam Mavi was bought by SRH for his base price of INR 75 lakhs. Spencer Johnson went unsold.
