The IPL auction for the 2026 season is currently being held in Abu Dhabi. 369 players are going under the hammer for 77 vacant slots as all 10 franchises look to fine-tune their squads for the one final time before the league's 19th edition.
The likes of Cameron Green (INR 25.20 crore to KKR), Matheesha Pathirana (INR 18 crore to KKR), and the uncapped Indian duo of Prashant Veer (INR 14.20 crore to CSK) and Kartik Sharma (INR 14.20 crore to CSK) grabbed the headlines with their staggering price stags.
In the accelerated auction, former West Indies skipper Jason Holder and Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman stole the show by securing heft deals.
Holder, who entered the auction with a base price of INR 2 crore, fetched nearly the four times amount as Gujarat Titans outbid Chennai Super Kings to sign him for INR 7 crore.
Mustafizur, whose base price was also INR 2 crore, was roped in by Kolkata Knight Riders for 9.20 crore. KKR pipped Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings to secure his services.
Uncapped India all-rounder Mangesh Yadav also became the talk of the town as the accelerated auction progressed. Mangesh was bought by Royal Challengers Bengaluru for INR 5.20 crore. His base price was INR 30 lakh.
