The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 mini-auction is currently taking place in Abu Dhabi, with 369 cricketers vying for 77 slots across 10 franchises.
As expected, the likes of Cameron Green and Matheesha Pathirana triggered a fierce bidding war, with KKR eventually securing their services for INR 25.20 Crore and INR 18 Crore respectively.
Uncapped all-rounders were up for grabs in set No. 7, where Jammu & Kashmir's Auqib Nabi Dar hogged the limelight with his handsome price tag.
Having rose to fame with his impressive performances in Indian domestic circuit, Auqib was expected to attract several IPL franchises and that’s exactly what happened.
He threw his hat into the auction ring with a base price of INR 30 lakh and eventually secured a deal with Delhi Capitals for INR 8.40 crore. DC outbid RR, RCB and SRH to acquire his services.
Another top pick in this set was Uttar Pradesh’s Prashant Veer, who went for almost twice the price that Auqib fetched.
Entering the auction with a base price of INR 30 lakh, Prashant triggered a five-way bidding war, involving LSG, MI, CSK, RR and SRH. In the end, CSK prevailed and roped in the youngster for a staggering INR 14.20 crore.
