India captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid accompanied Sports Minister Anurag Thakur at the inauguration of the Khel Mahakhumbh in Bilaspur district. 

Dravid and Rohit were present on the stage with Anurag Thakur, and the Indian coach bowled a few tennis balls at the Indian captain. This pleased the crowd as he played his trademark pull shot and sent the ball into the audience, who cheered in delight.

Rohit Sharma then arrived in Dharamshala in a helicopter after attending this event.

Dharamsala will host a Test match for the first time since 2017 when India faced Australia in a four-match finale. The third India-Australia Test was scheduled to be played at the HPCA Stadium last year, but it was moved to Indore due to Dharamsala's poor outfield conditions.

Following their triumph in the Ranchi Test, which gave them an unassailable 3-1 lead in the series, the Indian team enjoyed a week-long break before arriving in Himachal Pradesh.
