Hardik Pandya was very lucky to survive a sure runout chance during the third T20I between India and Bangladesh that is being played in Hyderabad on October 12, 2024.

India, which leads the series 2-0, won the toss and decided to bat first.  Abhishek Sharma failed to impress, scoring only four runs. But when he was out, Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav wreaked havoc on Bangladeshi bowlers.

Samson led the way, scoring his first T20I century of 111 in 47 balls with 11 fours and 8 sixes. He also added 173 runs for the second wicket with captain Suryakumar Yadav, who scored 75 in 35 balls, including 5 sixes and 8 fours.

After they were dismissed, India set a target of 300 runs, which Riyan Parag (34 in 13) and Hardik Pandya (47 in 18) nearly achieved. India recorded their highest T20I score of 297/6 in 20 overs.

Meanwhile, the comedy of errors run out chance happened in the 18th over of the Indian innings. Hardik faced Mustafizur’s third ball of the over and got an inside edge onto his pads after Mustafizur bowled a pinpoint yorker and the ball rolled towards wicketkeeper Litton Das.

Riyan Parag sensing a single, took off for the run, but Hardik was not ready and wasn’t even looking. When he finally looked up, he noticed Parag next to him. With both batsmen at the same end, Bangladesh fielders had plenty of time to get a runout.

Both hitters then began racing towards the non-striker's end, as Litton Das's underarm toss was also aimed for that end.

Litton made a terrible throw, as the ball went over the bowler. Najmul Hossain Shanto was backing up, but he couldn't get the ball cleanly. Meanwhile, Pandya made it to the non-striker's end safely.
