Team India during preparatory camp in Chennai ahead of 1st Test v Bangladesh | BCCITeam India has arrived in Chennai and the preparatory camp for the first Test against Bangladesh has begun at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. The first of the two Tests will begin on September 19 onwards, while the second Test will begin in Kanpur on September 27.

The Indian team is preparing for a busy 10-match Test season. This also includes a home series against New Zealand and the Border-Gavaskar series in Australia apart from Bangladesh Tests.

The team is returning to play after a month-long hiatus. They want to recoup their setback in the ODI series against Sri Lanka in August under new coach Gautam Gambhir. This is India's maiden Test series with Gambhir and his support crew. 

India leads the WTC table with 68.52 percentage points, followed by Australia at 62.50 percentage points. Bangladesh ranks fourth, with 45.83 percentage points.

Meanwhile, India captain Rohit Sharma and ace batter Virat Kohli were seen arriving at the Chennai airport. On Thursday night, Rohit was seen leaving the airport in a yellow jersey with security personnel. Kohli flew directly from London, landing early in the morning.

Other key members of the Indian squad like Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul, and Rishabh Pant were also seen arriving at the airport and then proceeding to the camp.

The BCCI also shared photos from the Team India training camp in Chennai that sees bowling coach Morne Morkel joining the side, as he begins his tenure.
