Bangladesh on Thursday (September 12) announced their 16-member squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against India.

The Tigers have included uncapped batter Jaker Ali Anik, while pacer Shoriful Islam will miss the India tour due to an injury.

Besides, the squad was predominantly the same that took part in the recently held Test series against Pakistan, which Bangladesh won by a margin of 2-0.

Najmul Hossain Shanto will lead the side, also featuring Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Zakir Hasan, Shadman Islam and Mominul Haque. Veteran campaigners such as Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan are part of the team as well.

Litton Das is the designated wicketkeeper-batter in the squad. Spin all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who was the Player-of-the-Series on the tour of Pakistan, will also travel to India for the two Test matches.

Young pacer Nahid Rana retained his place in the side on the back of stunning exploits during the Pakistan Test series win. Taijul Islam, Nayeem Hasan, Hasan Mahmud, Taskin Ahmed, and Syed Khaled Ahmed complete the squad.

The two-match Test series is slated to get underway on September 19 in Chennai. Kanpur will host the second and final Test match from September 27.
