With the historic Day-Night Test between India and Bangladesh ended inside three days at Eden Gardens, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has decided to refund the money to fans who had bought tickets for days 4 and 5 of the pink-ball Test.

Virat Kohli-led Indian cricket team has won their historic D/N Test match by an innings and 46 runs against Bangladesh at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on the first session of Day three.

The historic Kolkata Test was the shortest Test ever in terms of the number of balls bowled in the match at home, as previously Afghanistan's maiden Test in India that lasted 1028 balls had held the record.

The Eden Garden witnessed packed stands on all three days of the pink-ball Test and even the fourth-day tickets were sold out, but sadly the D/N game ended in the first hour of the third day in Kolkata.

CAB had confirmed in a tweet: “More than 50,000 people to witness India’s first PinkBall D/N Test at Eden Gardens each day for first three days as demand for tickets shoots through the roof.”

Meanwhile, the Indian Express has reported that the state body would refund the full amount to the fans who had bought the tickets for the Day 4 and 5 while the process for the refunding has already started off officially, confirmed by the CAB on Monday, November 25.

In a statement, the CAB said: “The process of refunding the amounts for Day 4 and Day 5 Tickets has started. Messages would be sent to all online transactors who have booked only for these two days.”

On the other hand, CAB secretary Avishek Dalmiya said: “CAB has always stood by the cricket-loving people and has tried its best to provide them with the best of facilities. This time too, there would be no exception. It is our moral duty to refund amounts of the tickets for the last two days where no game is being played at all.”

Noteworthy, India will next play West Indies at home in a limited-overs series next month.
