Team India inflicted a 3-0 whitewash over South Africa after thrashing the visitors by an innings and 202 runs in the final Test in Ranchi on Tuesday (October 22).

As if the dominance was any less remarkable, Ranchi’s favourite son MS Dhoni made it even sweeter for the Indian team with his presence in the dressing room.

Dhoni was in the Indian dressing room on the fourth day of the third Test. The World Cup-winning captain was seen talking to left-arm spinner Shahbaz Nadeem, who made his debut in the Ranchi Test and picked up four wickets across the two innings.

Dhoni also clicked a picture with Ravi Shastri and the Indian head coach shared the photo on Twitter with a caption reading: “Great to see a true Indian legend in his den after a fantastic series win.”

Addressing the press conference after the match, India skipper Virat Kohli was asked if the team will visit Dhoni’s place as the Test match got over in just four days.

To which, Kohli hilariously replied to the reporter: “He [Dhoni] is here. He is in the change room. Come say hello to him”.

MS Dhoni's retirement speculations have been doing the rounds ever since India’s ouster from World Cup 2019 in July. A two-month sabbatical following the quadrennial event, which saw him missing the West Indies and South Africa series, has further raised questions on his cricket future.

Dhoni had called time on his Test career back in December 2014 while he stepped down as India's limited-overs skipper in January 2017.
