Rohit Sharma is a brilliant batsman, amazing captain and perhaps one of the funniest guys on the field. He has been seen having fun with the Spidercam, his teammates and even commentators from time to time.
Something similar was seen when South African batsmen were going great guns in their first innings with Dean Elgar making 160 and Quinton de Kock making 111. During one such passage of play, Rohit Sharma got near to the stump mic and called out to Harbhajan Singh, out of favor off-spinner, who is part of the Star Sports Hindi commentary team.
Rohit Sharma said, “Come in come in Bhajju paa come in. Bhajju paa aapke liye kaafi rough bann chukka hai, idhar aa jaiye thoda ball daaliye (A lot of rough has been created on the pitch, come and bowl for us).”
Harbhajan Singh saw the funny side to it and replied, “coming.. u bowled well too right on the target @ImRo45 ek ball mere style de bi karna next time”
The duo have played for India and for Mumbai Indians for a long time and share a terrific sense of humor. This led to Rohit Sharma mimicking Harbhajan Singh’s preparations before he bowls while standing in slips.
