Rohit Sharma is going from strength to strength in his first outing as a Test opener in the ongoing Test match at Vizag between India and South Africa. The first match of the three-match series has seen fortunes fluctuating after the first day was cut short due to rain.
Sharma stroked a beautiful 176 in the first innings, adding more than 300 runs for the opening wicket with Mayank Agarwal, who made 215 and helped India get 502/7d. South Africa replied with 431 with Elgar and De Kock making centuries as well.
During the 3rd day’s play, there was a time period when wickets were not falling for the Indian team and Rohit Sharma being a prankster, deciding to inject some life in the proceedings. He came near the stump mic and asked Harbhajan Singh to come and bowl given that there was enough rough created. Harbhajan Singh is part of the Star Sports Hindi commentary team.
Rohit said, “Come in come in Bhajju paa come in. Bhajju paa aapke liye kaafi rough bann chukka hai, idhar aa jaiye thoda ball daaliye (A lot of rough has been created on the pitch, come and bowl for us).”
The turbanator, as Harbhajan is known, also has an amazing sense of humor and decided to reply in the same vein and tweeted, “coming.. u bowled well too right on the target @ImRo45 ek ball mere style de bi karna next time”
