England had another dominating outing against India in the ongoing Chennai Test as they piled up a mammoth 555/8 in their first innings till stumps on Day 2.
Skipper Joe Root was the star for the visitors, scoring 218 in his 100th Test. All-rounder Ben Stokes (82) and opener Dom Sibley (87) also made significant contributions with the bat.

Apart from England’s domination, the highlight of second day’s play was Stokes’ hilarious reaction when Rohit Sharma dropped an absolute dolly at mid-wicket to give Dom Bess a life.
During the 175th over of tourists’ innings, Bess chipped Washington Sundar’s delivery harmlessly. Rohit, who was stationed at mid-wicket, went for the catch with his fingers pointing up and made a complete mess of it.
It was such an easy chance that everyone was left shocked. However, Stokes’ reaction caught the attention of one and all as he was seen putting his hand in the mouth in disbelief while sitting in the dressing room.
