Indian fast-bowlers incredibly dominated the recently-concluded Test series – including a Day-Night Test against Bangladesh at home, leaving not a single chance for the tourists to make headlines, as the hosts completed a 2-0 whitewash on Sunday, November 24.

However, Ebadot Hossain from the Bangladesh camp managed to grab some attention with his unique celebration after taking wickets during the Test series in India.

In the game of cricket, it is really enthralling to see the celebrations of the players on the field, especially the bowlers when they take a wicket, their style of celebrating is worth watching, though sometimes it is very exciting and funny or sometimes very inspiring.

And now Ebadot has been making headlines for doing a grand salute, grabbing the attention during the recently concluded Test series when he dismissed Indian captain Virat Kohli with the help of Taijul Islam's spectacular catch in his debut Test match at Eden Gardens.

Following his dream wicket of India’s batting superstar, Ebadot marched and gave a salute, interestingly, that was not the first time, as he did the same for Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara after dismissing the two Indian batsmen in Kolkata.

Recently, the right-handed bowler revealed the reason behind the special celebration, saying it is a tribute to the Bangladesh Air Force where he is been working since 2014. Ebadat was quoted by Hindustan Times, “I work in the Bangladesh Air Force. My salute is a tribute to them. I have been associated with the Bangladesh Air Force for about five and a half years now, and I still continue to be very proud to perform any role they offer.”

Hossain further revealed, “I never had any special celebration before, but during a first-class game, Mahmudullah Riyad told me to do a salute every time I pick up a wicket as I was a part of the Air Force. He told me that this will build my brand.”

The seamer was also delighted to be able to take the wicket of world-class batsmen, Rohit Sharma and Kohli while branding India skipper’s wicket as dream scalp.

Hossain signed off by saying, “Rohit and Virat are world-class batsmen. It was a dream to get Virat’s wicket, and thankfully, I got that on my first Test against him. There is still a long way to go.”

In the past two years, West Indies bowler Sheldon Cottrell is famously known for his grand salute, taking a vigorous salute by walking two to three steps after dismissing a batsman and he does the same to pay tribute to the armed forces, as he was a part of it in the past.
