Chess wizards Viswanathan Anand and Magnus Carlsen have become the part of the historic Day-Night Test between India and Bangladesh, as the two were honored with the opportunity to ring the traditional Eden bell in Kolkata on Saturday, November 23.

Joining the other famous personalities, the two chess wizards kick off the second day’s play of the historic pink-ball Test by ringing the customary bell at the Eden Gardens on Saturday.

Anand, five-time World chess champion and current World Champion Carlsen, were seen with the BCCI President and former India captain Sourav Ganguly in Kolkata on Friday (November 22), as the Tata Steel Chess Rapid and Blitz kicked off in the city.

Indian chess legend played coached Ganguly at the ‘Draw of Lots’ ceremony against Carlsen.

Meanwhile, BCCI has shared the picture of two doing the honor at Eden Gardens on its official Twitter handle with a caption: “Five-time world champion @vishy64theking and current champion Magnus Carlsen rang the bell on Day 2 at the Eden Gardens.”

On the opening day of the historic occasion, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina rang together the Eden bell to start the play of the day first at the Eden Gardens, in the presence of Ganguly, Nazmul Hasan, and Sachin Tendulkar.

Noteworthy, Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane resumed Day 2 for India at the individual scores of 59 and 23 respectively after outclassing Bangladesh for 106 on Day 1.
