The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) agreed to the proposal of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) to start play at 1 pm, taking in account the dew conditions that play a role at the Eden Gardens after twilight in winter evenings, allowing the Day-Night Test between India and Bangladesh from 22 to 26 November in Kolkata to finish by 8 pm.

Official from BCCI reported the progress and explained that sessions were re-planned bearing in mind the need to schedule stumps by 8 pm, as the ball could get really wet if play took place in late November post 8 pm in Kolkata.

"Keeping in mind the dew factor, the BCCI approved CAB's request to change the playing hours in the second Test. While play will start at 1 pm, the first session will end at 3 pm. The second session will start from 3:40 pm and continue till 5:40 pm. The final session will be played from 6 pm till 8 pm," official told IANS.

Earlier, curator of Eden Gardens, Sujan Mukherjee had said that planning ahead would help combat the element of dew. "Mostly after 8-8:30 pm the dew factor comes into play as we saw in this year's white-ball game at Eden. Thus, I don't think dew will be a problem,"

On prepration and how wicket is likely to behave, Sujan said, "My preparation is the same like I do for any day game. I will make the pitch as sporting as possible. We have had good pitches at Eden in the past and it would be no different. It doesn't change since it's a Day-Night affair."

However, ticket demand has been on an all-time high with CAB taking to Twitter to disclose the tremendous ticket sales to experience India's inaugural pink-ball test. BCCI President, Sourav Ganguly expects a full house to witness the historic event.
