Indian captain Virat Kohli had his first experience of playing against the pink ball as Indian batsmen took turns to get used to the new coloured ball during their net session ahead of the first Test against Bangladesh, starting on Thursday (November 14) in Indore. The players took throwdowns with the SG pink ball that was part of the usual red-ball practice session.

It was skipper Kohli, who first faced the pink ball. With throwdown specialists Raghavendra and Sri Lankan Nuwan Senaviratne hurling the pink stuff at express pace, the skipper looked quite at ease and played some glorious strokes.

Kohli could be seen trying to get comfortable with the different coloured ball. Once he was done and went into the main nets, the other top-order batsmen mixed and matched, facing red and pink ball simultaneously.

The Indian team is looking to get as much practice in against the pink ball ahead of their first-ever day/night Test at the Eden Gardens, starting November 22.

BCCI had earlier arranged a couple of pink ball sessions under lights for the Test specialists like Ajinkya Rahane, Mayank Agarwal, Pujara, Mohammed Shami at the NCA under Rahul Dravid's guidance.
