Speculations may be rife over his future but the great MS Dhoni could grace India's historic D/N pink-ball Test against Bangladesh in Kolkata this month with a commentary stint for the host broadcaster Star Sports.

It is learnt through an IANS report that Star has proposed a plan to new BCCI president Sourav Ganguly where all former captains of the Indian team would be invited for the first two days of the Test match and asked to share their favourite moments from the country's Test history.

"Invite India Test captains for Day 1 & 2 of the Test. All captains at the ground along with (Virat) Kohli and the rest of the team as well as the dignitaries line up for the anthem," reads the plan accessed by IANS in a mail.

"Captains appear on commentary as guests through the day to re-collect their favourite moments from India's Test history. Down memory lane segments recorded with individual captains are played on the big screen at the ground in breaks Day 4 onwards."

This isn't all, the plan then includes inviting famous names part of the yet fondly remembered 2001 Test win over Australia on Day 3 for a post-lunch show.

"V.V.S. Laxman, Sourav Ganguly, Harbhajan Singh, Anil Kumble (?) and Rahul Dravid (?) re-live the Test match (2001). Segments aired on the big screen," the plan further reads.

The question marks next to Dravid and Kumble's names could be due to them not making their availability clear when the documentation was done on Saturday.

As further means to attract eyeballs, Star is also planning to telecast Team India's training session with the pink ball on the eve of the game.

"Free entry to watch India practice on Friday (B & L block). Live coverage of the practice session on Star. Crowd interaction with legends. Crowd interactions with select India players (at the end of the session)," the mail reads.

On-ground audio commentary may also be provided at the picturesque Eden Gardens.
