IND v BAN 2019: Rohit Sharma declared fit and will play Delhi T20I

Rohit Sharma will lead India in the T20I series in absence of Virat Kohli who is rested.

The first T20I between India and Bangladesh will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on November 3. Despite all the talks of pollution and poor quality air, BCCI has confirmed that match will be played as per schedule.

Meanwhile, the Indian team was handed an injury scare when captain Rohit Sharma was hit on left abdomen and thigh while taking throwdowns in net session. He had to leave the nets immediately and was assessed by the team doctor.

Now the Indian board has sent out a statement which gives an update on the standing captain’s situation.

Rohit Sharma was hit on the left side of his abdomen while batting in the nets today. The BCCI medical team has confirmed that he is fit and available for the first T20 after assessment of his injury," the BCCI media manager issued a statement on behalf of the team.

The Indian team has a designated a left-arm throw down expert in Sri Lanka's Nuwan to counter left-arm seamers in the opposition, Mustafizur Rahaman in this particular series.

It was learnt that Rohit was taking treatment for the blow and didn't take further part in the net session.

Rohit also expressed his excitement for the match with a tweet, "Excited to be back in blues. Cannot wait to get it started #IndvsBan"
