Legendary Indian batsman VVS Laxman on Tuesday (October 22) said that the hosts will face some stiff competition from Bangladesh in the upcoming three-match T20I series next month.

On Tuesday, Indian finished thoier home series against South Africa on high, having won Test series 3-0 and they will next host Bangladesh for 3 T20Is and 2 Tests in November.

While expecting a competitive contest, Laxman advised the Men in Blue to not take the Tigers lightly even at home, saying they will give a tough fight to the Indian cricket team, as they are more experienced side than the current South African squad whom they recently outplayed at home.

However, India whitewashed the relatively young Proteas side in the Freedom Series, but could not win the T20I series as the two shared the trophy after the first match washed out. Laxman, who is a Star Sports expert, said on Nerolac Cricket Live: “I feel India versus Bangladesh series is going to be a competitive one. The Bangladesh squad is more experienced than the current South Africa team and most of the Bangladesh players are also in good form.”

He signed off by saying, “The Bangladesh team has grown over the years and cannot be taken lightly considering they always give a tough fight to the Indian team in T20Is.”
