IND v AUS 2023: WATCH - Pujara hits Lyon for a big six after Rohit sends out a message from dressing room, commentators in awe

Pujara was the lone fighter with the bat for India in second innings of Indore Test.

Cheteshwar Pujara | GettyCheteshwar Pujara was the lone fighter with the bat for India on Day 2 of the third Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test against Australia at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore.

After conceding a first-innings lead of 88 runs, it was expected that the home batters would put up a better show in the second essay. However, they once again failed to step up as a unit as veteran Australia spinner Nathan Lyon demolished the formidable Indian batting line-up with eight wickets to his name.

Amid the batting failure, which saw the hosts getting bowled out for 163 in the second innings, Pujara stood tall and scored 59 runs on a turning Indore track.

Watching Pujara’s valiant effort from the Indian dressing room, India skipper Rohit had apparently tried to send a couple of messages to the Indian batter in the middle through Ishan Kishan.

After the camera panned towards Rohit, he looked visibly frustrated as he was engaged in an animated discussion with Kishan.

"Translation, translation Ajit Agarkar," Ravi Shastri told his co-commentator Ajit Agarkar when the cameras caught the Indian captain.

"The sign language tells you he is trying to tell Kishan, tell them if it's full on the leg, try to be a bit more aggressive," Agarkar said on-air.

As it turned out, Pujara smashed Lyon for a massive six in the very next over after Rohit sent out the message through Ishan.

“Pujara goes big and it’s into the crowd. It's six for Pujara. See what he was trying! And the message from Rohit Sharma has done the trick. The translation was perfect. The crowd love it. Pujara on the attack,” said Shastri while commentating.

Nathan Lyon picked eight wickets for Australia as India only managed to set a 76-run target for the Steve Smith-led side in the Indore Test.
