IND v AUS 2023: WATCH – Kohli walks away from DRS discussion after getting out to poor shot; lifts his bat in anger

Virat Kohli got out for 13 in the second innings of Indore Test.

Virat Kohli | ScreengrabStar India batter Virat Kohli registered another low score in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia as he got out for 13 in the second innings of the third Test at Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore on Thursday (March 2).

Kohli, who scored 22 in the first innings, looked in good nick in the second dig but he got out playing a poor shot against Matthew Kuhnemann.

As Kuhnemann pitched one short, Kohli decided to stay on the back foot and pull it on the leg side. However, the ball arrived much quicker than anticipated and the former India skipper got beaten on the inside edge and was stuck in front of middle and leg.

The Australian players made a huge appeal and the umpire raised the finger straightaway. Even though it was a close call, a clearly miffed Kohli decided against taking a review as he walked back without any discussion with his batting partner Cheteshwar Pujara.

Virat Kohli was visibly upset with himself for playing that shot. The right-hander lifted his bat in anger as he reached the boundary ropes before rushing to the dressing room.

"He was looking for the pull. And his head is down; he knows it's a wrong option of a shot. He tried in once in the last over but missing this. He is not taking the review. He is walking away in absolute disgust," Ravi Shastri, who was on-air at the time, said.
