India are hosting Australia in a four-match Test series from February 9. The series is crucial for India with respect to the World Test Championship (WTC) final

The Rohit Sharma-led side needs to win at least three Tests in the series to qualify for the final, due to be held at the Oval in June 2023.

Ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the home team called up as many as six net spinners to fine-tune their batting for turning tracks.

Initially, the likes of Washington Sundar, Saurabh Kumar, Rahul Chahar and R Sai Kishore were added to the side as net bowlers before the duo of Jayant Yadav and Pulkit Narang was included.

On the eve of the opening Test in Nagpur, Virat Kohli was also seen giving throwdowns to skipper Rohit Sharma.

When the players were warming up for training, Kohli was seen offering throwdowns to Rohit beside the training pitches at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium.

During the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023, Delhi will host the second Test from February 17 while Dharamshala and Ahmedabad will stage the third and fourth Tests from March 1 and March 9, respectively.
