Multan Sultans prevailed against Karachi Kings in a last-over thriller by three runs on Wednesday (February 22). In a high-scoring clash held in Multan, after several twists and turns in the Kings' chase, the Mohammad Rizwan-led side kept their nerves in check to complete the win.

Karachi Kings' skipper Imad Wasim won the toss and opted to field first, as Rizwan scored his maiden hundred in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to remain unbeaten on 110, as Sultans piled up 196/2 with Shan Masood (51) and Rilee Rossouw (29) also contributing to the score.

In reply, Matthew Wade (20) and James Vince (75) provided a great start to Karachi Kings, as they were 105/1 in the 10th over before Sultans built pressure with wickets to bring the equation down to 40 runs from the final two overs.

Imad Wasim (46*) played a blinder to bring down the target to just six runs from four balls, but Abbas Afridi, bowling the final over, displayed great composure to concede only two runs including the wicket of Ben Cutting, as the Kings fell three runs short. They now have lost 4 of their 5 matches, while Sultans have 4 wins from as many matches.

Wasim Akram, President of Karachi Kings, was visibly frustrated in the team area as he kicked a sofa in front of him in anger after the team lost another game that they could have won.
