Kuldeep Yadav named captain of Uttar Pradesh for Ranji Trophy 2022; squad announced

Uttar Pradesh is placed in Elite Group E; to begin their campaign against Odisha on 13th Jan.

The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has announced the Uttar Pradesh squad for the Ranji Trophy 2022, which will kick start on 13th January. 

Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav has been named as the captain of the Uttar Pradesh team for the upcoming edition of the Ranji Trophy and Karan Sharma will be the vice-captain of the team. 

The likes of Priyam Garg, Rinku Singh Akshdeep Nath are among the other specialist batters named in the side. While Shivam Mavi, Ankit Rajpoot is among those who will form the pace bowling department.

The fast bowling duo of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Saurabh Kumar will also be included in the squad if they are available for the tournament.

Uttar Pradesh is placed in Elite Group E along with Baroda, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Pondicherry. They will be playing all their matches in Trivandrum and will begin their campaign against Odisha on 13th January. 

Releasing the official statement, UPCA named a 24-member squad for the Ranji Trophy 2021. 

"Senior Selection Committee of our Association selected following cricketers of our state to represent U.P. Squad for Ranji Trophy," UPCA stated.
