SA v IND 2021-22: Fans unimpressed as Virat Kohli gets out chasing delivery wide outside-off stump again

Kohli finished the year 2021 without a century in international cricket.

Virat Kohli | GettyIndia skipper Virat Kohli endured second successive failure in the ongoing South Africa tour as he got out cheaply on Day 4 of the first Test at Centurion.

Kohli was dismissed on the first ball after the Lunch break as he launched himself for a cover drive. Debutant Marco Jansen dismissed him for 18 in the second innings.

The Indian captain had thrown his wicket in a similar fashion during the first innings as well. He scored 35 in the first essay.

After Kohli’s wicket, the talks of his century drought once again became a topic of discussion. His last three-figure mark was against Bangladesh in a Test match in November 2019.

The fans were frustrated with Kohli’s shot selection as his disappointing outing with the bat continued.

Here are the reactions:

Virat Kohli finished 2021 with 536 runs in 11 Tests at a paltry average of 28.21. He managed to hit only 4 fifties in the longest format in 2021.
