West Indian pacer Krishmar Santokie had been under the scanner after he bowled two extremely wild deliveries in the space of three balls in the first match of the new season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2019-20 between Sylhet Thunder and Chattogram Challengers.

Playing for Sylhet Thunder, Santokie bowled a big wide down the leg side on his third delivery and then two balls later, he overstepped to bowl a massive and an equally dubious no-ball against the Chattogram Challengers on December 11 – which has drawn accusations of spot-fixing.

Following the suspicious episode, Thunder's team director Tanjil Chowdhury requested the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to investigate the matter, as the board had to appoint Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) for the investigation.

On Saturday, December 28, BCB's media committee chairman Jalal Yunus confirmed that Santokie was interrogated by the board’s ACU for the controversial deliveries.

Jalal told Cricbuzz, “Santokie was interrogated for a long period by ACU members and they looked deeply into his track record. It's not that the board [BCB] is sitting idle without doing anything in this regard [for the allegation on Santokie].”

He signed off by saying, “They [ACU] were particularly focused on knowing about his track record during the long sessions with him. They probably had already provided their report to the board though I am not sure about their decision that is placed in that report.”
