Doubts over his commitment since being banned for failing a dope test were best answered with the bat as Prithvi Shaw turned up for Mumbai after his comeback in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 and scored a majestic 39-ball 63 against Assam this Sunday (November 17).

Shaw had an outstanding first-wicket partnership with Aditya Tare (82) of 138 runs; his innings glint with delightful strokeplay that caught everyone's attention. He helped Mumbai post 206/5 in 20 overs at the halfway mark, in prime position to win and continue its dominance in Group D of the premier domestic tournament.
Shaw must have been desperate to prove a point as he hadn't played any cricket since featuring in the Delhi Capitals line-up during the IPL 2019.
After which, in July the news of his eight-month back-dated ban got broken to the dismay of his fans.
Previous to that, the 20-year-old had been striving to overcome a leg injury that ruled him out of his first Test tour of Australia.
Shaw made his India debut in October last year against West Indies when he scored a ton in his very first Test in Rajkot.
He is definitely one for the future and needs greater attention and care from the right people in Indian cricket.
