India keeper-batter KL Rahul has brushed aside all fitness concerns about captain Rohit Sharma and pacer Mohammad Shami as the Men in Blue gear up to take on New Zealand in their last Group A game in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on Sunday, March 2.

India and New Zealand have both qualified for the semi-finals and this will be a chance for both teams to get some practice before the knockout stages.

Ahead of the game, there were some reports about fitness issues with captain Rohit Sharma, who was seen clutching his hamstring during the Pakistan game. Shami showed signs of discomfort with his ankle early in his spell, leaving the field temporarily before returning to bowl.

"Fitness-wise, there are no concerns about anyone missing a game as far as I know," Rahul assured reporters during a press conference on Friday.

Talks concerning squad rotation have come up as the semifinals draw near. Rahul admitted that it would be tempting to try out various players, but he was unsure if India would alter their lineup.

"There are temptations to try different players before the semis, but I am not sure that will be the case. There is little time before the semifinals, so you would want players to get maximum game time. This is my perspective, but things could change. I am not part of the leadership group," he added.

India is still confident going into their match against New Zealand, hoping to further establish their supremacy in the competition.

The eagerly awaited matchup looks to be an exciting fight with momentum on their side and athletes committed to staying fit.
