India's vice-captain Rohit Sharma had to bowl on the opening day of the fourth Test against Australia in Brisbane after pacer Navdeep Saini picked up an injury. Saini walked out of the field and Rohit came to complete his over.

It was the 36th over of Australia's innings when Saini produced a chance to dismiss Marnus Labuschagne off the second last delivery in the over. Unfortunately, the catch was dropped by captain Ajinkya Rahane in the slip and the pacer looked in pain too.

Rohit was given the job to bowl the last ball of the over and to everyone's surprise, he bowled medium pace. He usually bowls off-spin and also has a hat-trick in IPL.

The Indian cricket team has suffered major injury blows in the series already. They have to field an inexperienced bowling attack in the series-deciding match because of players ruling out after an injury.

After Mohammad Shami and Umesh Yadav, India lost Jasprit Bumrah and R Ashwin to injury after the third Test.
