Australia cricketer Marnus Labuschagne spoke about his light banter with India batsman Shubman Gill on the second day of the third Test. Gill was trying to focus on his batting, while Labuschagne asked him a few questions in an attempt to disturb him.
After the end of the day's play, Labuschagne said there was nothing rude he said to Gill, who's playing only his second Test. The incident happened when Gill and Rohit Sharma were stitching an opening partnership.
"I was just asking him friendly questions. He wouldn’t answer me. So, it was disappointing. I just enjoy it out there. I have not said anything rude. I was just asking him questions, like who is his favourite player?" said Marnus Labuschagne.
“He didn’t give me an answer, but I’ll get it out of him, don’t worry,” he further added.
Labuschagne asked Gill about his favorite player. “Who’s your favourite player?” he questioned. The India youngster replied, “I will tell you after the match". Spicing it up a bit more, the Aussie continued, “After the ball... Sachin? Do you reckon Virat?”.
Not only Gill, but Labuschagne also asked a few questions to Rohit during the Mitchell Starc's over. He wanted to know about his quarantine period before the third Test.
