On a day where Indian bowlers performed excellently to dismiss Australia for just 195 and set-up their recovery in the Test series in Melbourne, the visitors perhaps found their biggest positive while batting.
Opening batsman Shubman Gill overcame the nervousness of a debut and batted with great assurance against some class Australian fast bowling on Day 1 of the Boxing Day Test.

Gill ended play with 28 not out off 38 deliveries, but his stay has already been an apt reflection of all the class that has got people talking about him since his U-19 days.
Despite not much experience at the first-class and India 'A' level, Gill absolutely looked a part facing Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon on an MCG surface restoring normalcy for the iconic venue and offering good pace and bounce.
With him making an impressive start and promising a big knock that would help the team clinch a series-levelling win, cricket fraternity heaped effusive praise on Gill and backed him to be India's horse for the long haul.
