"Getting Rohit and Virat out would cost India about 60-70 runs in a T20I"- Asghar Afghan

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are inarguably the two best batters in world cricket at the moment and their impact in white-ball cricket makes them complete match-winners

In the T20Is, the duo is amongst the highest run-getters and in ODIs as well they have both scored over 20,000 runs between them. Their partnership has stood the test of time from early on in 2000's when both of them made their India debut and have established themselves as regulars now for over a decade.

Rohit and Kohli remain the biggest threats to bowling attacks across the globe and with both regaining their form in the recently-concluded Asia Cup, are the batters to watch out for both in the upcoming T20I series against Australia and South Africa as well as at home.

Former Afghanistan skipper, Asghar Afghan opined that whenever they played against India, they used to plan around Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

"Whenever we played against India, our plan used to be around Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. We used to say ‘get them out, half of Indian team is finished’. The whole world plans against these two big players like this only. They can win matches single-handedly. We used to believe that if we get both of them out early then about 100-120 runs would be less from India’s total in an ODI and about 60-70 runs in a T20I," Afghan told Hindustan Times.

Kohli announced his comeback to form with a scintillating maiden T20I ton against Afghanistan and will look forward to scoring more and more runs in the upcoming T20I series against Australia and South Africa and then in the T20 World Cup 2022.
