IPL 2020: Match 20, MI v RR – COC Predicted Playing XIs

MI have been in very good form off late while RR struggled a bit after good start.

Defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) will take on Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 20th match of the IPL 2020, which will be played in Abu Dhabi on October 6, 2020. MI has won three out of five matches played so far, while RR has two wins out of four matches.

While MI will be looking to consolidating their position in the top half of the points table with yet another win, RR will be looking to get in the top four by beating the defending champions who have found some much-wanted momentum.

For that to happen, they need to pick their best sides and therefore, Team COC presents the Predicted Playing XIs for the match.

MUMBAI INDIANS (MI)

Mumbai is expected to go in unchanged as there is no solid reason to send any player out. Openers Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock have finally found their stride, with De Kock scoring a good fifty in their last match.

IPL 2020: Rohit Sharma hails MI's power-hitters after win over SRH in Sharjah

The middle order of Suryakumar, Kishan, Hardik, and Pollard has done wonders for them from time to time in this IPL 2020 as well, as they all have some amazing knocks under their belts already. Even Krunal Pandya showed what he could do in the 4 balls he faced against SRH, making 20 runs.

He also had a good outing with the ball and was well supported by Pollard and Rahul Chahar. Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah have done exceedingly well at the beginning of the innings, while James Pattinson has fitted nicely as the support bowler and has played his part to the tee, picking wickets when the team needed them.

RAJASTHAN ROYALS (RR)

The Rajasthan Royals started off on a great note, but their performances and team selection have come under question recently. They are heavily dependent on openers Smith and Buttler for a good start and on Samson to power them through middle overs.

IPL 2020: Steve Smith calls for better performance from his top 3 after RR’s 8-wicket loss to RCB

The middle order of Parag, Uthappa, and Tewatia is not the best even by RR standards, and here is where they can make some changes. Parag has not got going and it is necessary to give someone else a chance in his place. This might mean either Manan Vohra or Yashasvi Jaiswal comes in his place and open the innings as well.

Steve Smith may have to bat down the order to lend strength in middle overs along with Uthappa and Lomror, who showed great maturity during his half-century against RCB. Tom Curran is expected to play the all-rounder’s role until Ben Stokes becomes available for them.

Shreyas Gopal has been unimpressive so far with the ball, but has been decently economical, and has done well in the past also. Jofra Archer, Ankit Rajpoot, and Jaydev Unadkat are expected to helm the pace bowling lineup.

MI COC Predicted Playing XI:

Rohit Sharma (C), Quinton de Kock (WK), Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya, James Pattinson, Rahul Chahar, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah

RR COC Predicted Playing XI:

Manan Vohra, Jos Buttler (WK), Sanju Samson, Steve Smith (C), Robin Uthappa, Mahipal Lomror, Tom Curran, Jofra Archer, Shreyas Gopal, Jaydev Unadkat, Ankit Rajpoot
