Rinku Singh and Khaleel Ahmed have been named in the Indian squad for the five T20Is in Harare, Zimbabwe, starting July 6 onwards. The rest of the Indian squad led by Shubman Gill has already touched down in Zimbabwe.

As per reports, Rinku Singh and Khaleel Ahmed both took a commercial flight out of Barbados to Harare and will link up with the Indian squad soon.

“Yes, both Khaleel and Rinku have left for Zimbabwe as they were named in the squad for the first two games. Rest will travel to Delhi first,” a source told News18 CricketNext.

The T20 World Cup 2024 winning Indian team has been stuck in Barbados due to a hurricane since June 29th but is set to fly out to Delhi on a chartered flight.

On the other hand, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shivam Dube, and Sanju Samson, also named in the India squad for the Zimbabwe series, will miss the first two T20Is of the series. They have, however, been replaced by Harshit Rana, Jitesh Sharma and Sai Sudharshan.

While the BCCI has not clarified why Jaiswal, Samson, and Dube were traveling back to Delhi and Rinku and Khaleel going to Zimbabwe, the report added that the World Cup-winning squad is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on arriving in New Delhi.
